3 Dollar Pencil

So there I was, sitting down at school to do some homework before my class started in 2 hours. I got out my math book, my note book and started looking for my pencil. "Oh no" I thought “it must have fallen out at home" (a fact witch I confirmed latter that day). At this point I had to make some decisions about what to do next. I could just ignore the home work, but then I would get a bad grade, so that’s out. So from somewhere I had to come up with a pencil. My options were like this:

- Find one and steal it
- Ask a friend for one
- Go to the book store and buy one

I briefly looked under the tables I was sitting at to see if someone had lost a pencil that I could grab, but no luck.
Asking a friend is hard because I don’t have any at school. I haven’t said more then 2 words to anyone in either of my classes, except the teacher. So making a friend right then and there just for the possibility of a free pencil seemed kind of low...even for me.
So it was off to the store and here is where we get to the reason for this post...

I understood going in that it was a sellers market. There is not a convenience store near the school so they know they have you. I walked into the store and over to the pins and pencils and started looking. There was not a single normal pencil (think the yellow #2 type) they were all the maniacal kind. Now that ok by me, I like them but not at the prices they were asking. $3.50 let me say that again THREE DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENCE for a stupid pencil. I look and looked for a cheaper pencil but there was just none to be found, the price only went up from there! It’s at this point my mind wondered back to the 1st options I was thinking about, theft. But in the end I caved to “The Man” and paid them there $3.50 for the pencil…but I’m still angry about it.

"Asking a friend is hard because I don’t have any at school," is sad, but not technically an error. Poor Bailey. Anyway, since you don't have any friends at school I'll help you learn how to be grammar's friend.
Ok, just from the top here, is a 'fact witch' some sort of research device? Like before you got home, you asked the fact witch and she said, "Yes, you left it at home?"
It ought to be a seller's market. Unless the name of the place was Sellers Market, when in that case it ought to have been capitalized.
Most stores sell pens with pencils, pins being in the sewing section. Although Sellers Market may just do it differently, or maybe you go to a craft school or something.
What sort of mischief can a maniacal pencil get up to? I'd think you wouldn't want one during a test. Trying to answer serious questions must be hard if one of your tools is laughing like a supervillian. Should we be afraid? Are maniacal pencils taking over our schools bent on world domination?
"Now that ok by me." That sentence no verb. That not good grammar. Hulk sad.
What on Earth are CENCE and how do you spend it?
When the maniacal pencils take over are we going to have to give up our dollars and spend CENCE instead? Will Sellers Market take CENCE? Should I be asking the fact witch instead of you?
I hope you can answer some of these questions.

You really know how to take the fun out of things don't you. There are only 2 real errors up there. You don't have to nit-pick so much. I just find it sad that the only way I can get you to post to your own site is to write a post of my own and have you go over it with a fine tooth comb and point out every little, tiny, small almost completely irrelevant error you can find. But that’s ok. At least you did something with your day.

P.S. "sellers market" is fine, because seller's would imply that “seller’s” possesses the market. A seller is not a person, but rather an action that any person can perform.

"What is a fact witch?"

*Raises hand frantically*

It's like a sandwich, only made with the mystical meat of a witch...its a little chewy, but not bad.

Seriously though...all grammatical errors aside, that is WAY too much for a stupid pencil. I had to buy a folder at school once, and it costed me about $2.50...and it wasn't even a cool folder! It was something I would have bought when I was in 5th grade! Bastards!

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!
