Lost = Me Dead

I have had the opportunity to watch the TV show Lost recently. I really like this show, however I had a realization wile watching it. If I was on this island with the other plain crash survivors I would not last a month, I would die (probably horrifically) if I were on this show. Now, I do not claim to be an outdoor expert and I have no training or special skills that would help me survive on this island. But that’s not why I would die. I would die because I don’t have an interesting (or tragic) back story. Because of this fact I would not be one of the main actors and therefore I would be killed just to remind the viewer that this island is dangerous. Death by lack of back story.

This is in no way to be seen as a cry for help however, I like being boring. I like spending most of my time alone; I like not having a lot of issues or drama. This policy serves me well, unless I crash on a daemon island north of Australia with 42 other survivors, then I’m done for.

What’s said Vs. What’s meant.

Said:
Dear Postal Customer,

We sincerely regret the damage to your mail during handling by the Postal Service. We hope this incident did not inconvenience you. We realize that your mail is important to you and that you have every right to expect it to be delivered in good condition.

Although every effort is made to prevent damage to the mail, occasionally this will occur because of the great volume handled and the rapid processing methods which must be employed to assure the most expeditious distribution possible.

We hope you understand. We assure you that we are constantly striving to improve our processing methods in order that even a rare occurrence may be eliminated.

Please accept our apologies.

Sincerely

Your Postmaster

Meant:
We are sorry that our normal neglect of your mail is more noticeable that usual. We hope you don’t report us. We realize that your mail is important to you and only you, and that you have every right to expect it to be delivered in good condition. Just like you have every right to expect freedom of speech, privacy, and an impartial jury.

Although we rarely go out of our way to damage your mail, we some times feel more spiteful then usual. When this happens we will only offer you hollow excuses as to why it happed.

We hope you understand, if not, to bad. We assure you that we are constantly striving to find new way to hide our neglect and carelessness.

Please accept our apologies…or you will never see your mail again! Ha ha ha!

Sincerely

Your Postmaster

Laziness

This is not a post about my laziness but the laziness of the two people (and I use that term lightly) that should be posting here. So this is my post to call them slackers and have something on the screen when people make a wrong turn and end here.
